General Body & its Meetings


The General Body of the Association shall consists of

i) All Founder Members;
ii) All Ordinary Members;
iii) All Life Members;
iv) All Honorary Members;
v) All Donor Members;

Annual General Body Meeting
Annual General Body Meeting of the Association shall be held, at the place & time decided by Executive Committee in Mumbai only, within 6 months after expiry of financial Year of the Association to transact the following business:

  1. To receive and consider the report of the committee on the affairs of the association during the preceding year.
  2. To receive and consider the audited accounts of the Association for the previous year.
  3. To elect the President of the Association for the ensuing term.
  4. To elect the members on Executive Committee in accordance with the regulations governing the election of the same.
  5. To transact any other business duly brought forward with the permission of the chairman.

Special General Body Meeting
The Executive Committee may at any time convene a Special General Body Meeting by giving clear 10 days notice to members.

(c-1) Requisition Meeting
The Executive Committee may convene a special Requisition Meeting on receipt of a requisition duly signed by NOT LESS THAN 50 (fifty) members or by 10% of the number of members on the roll of the Association, whichever is less, requisitioning to convene such meeting and Specifying agenda of the meeting, not later than a one month from the date of Receipt of such requisition.

In case, the Executive Committee fails to convene the meeting as requisitioned, the signatories of the requisition shall themselves be entitled to convene a Requisition General Body Meeting subject to giving clear 21( Twenty One) days Notice to All the members on the roll of the Association, provided that such Requisition General Body Meeting shall not be entitled to transact any other business than one specified in the requisition only.

Convener of Meeting
The Secretary on instructions from the President shall be entitled to convene Annual General Body Meeting and Special general body meeting and shall do so whenever directed, by the Executive Committee.

Notices
21 (twenty one) day's Notice of every Annual General Body Meeting specifying the place at Mumbai, date and hour of the meeting and the business proposed to be transacted shall be given to the valid members on the roll of Association by the Executive Committee and such notices may be signed by the Secretary or President or other office bearers authorized by the Executive Committee.

10 days notice shall be given in the manner provided herein before for the Special General Body Meeting.

All notices of Annual General Body and Special General Body Meeting shall be sent to the latest address of every member on the roll the Association by under Certificate of posting, which shall be deemed to be conclusive evidence of the notice served to the member.

Chairman of the General Body Meetings
The President and in his absence the Vice President shall preside over all General Body Meetings; and in their absence, the members present, shall select the chairman from amongst the members present, to preside over such meetings.

Quorum

  1. For any General Body Meeting
    50 (Fifty) Members present shall constitute the "Quorum" at any General Body or Special General Body Meeting "the quorum" is not present the members the members present shall be deemed to be "the quorum" and may transact all the business which is a duly constituted meeting authorized to transact, the business.

  2. For Requisition Meeting
    The Quorum for requisition meeting, shall be 75 members or 10% (Ten percent ) of the members on the roll of Association which ever is less. Provided that minimum 2/3 of the members who have signed the requisition shall remain present through out the meeting, otherwise the quorum shall lapse along with requisition. If the quorum is not present within 30 (Thirty) minutes of appointed time the requisition shall lapse.
